NEW FERRY MAN JAILED FOR MAKING AND DISTRIBUTING HUNDREDS OF IMAGES OF CHILDREN
Antony Smith, a new ferry worker aged 33, was convicted at Liverpool Crown Court for possessing a total of 585 indecent images of children, spanning Categories A, B, and C, including 241 images and videos in Category A.
He also pleaded guilty to creating indecent images of children, distributing 78 images in Category A, and possessing six images of extreme animal pornography.
Smith received a prison sentence of three years, had his mobile phone permanently seized, and was mandated to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228 and is scheduled to appear in court again on July 27 to address a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
