June 2019 Pensioner jailed for abusing young girl  A pensioner from Liverpool has been jailed after admitting a series of child sexual offences. Anthony McCarthy pleaded guilty to four indecent assaults and a charge of gross indecency on a young girl. The 69-year-old was locked up for nine years at Liverpool Crown Court earlier this month. His victim was under the age of 13 at the time of his crimes – and committed when he was in his twenties. McCarthy, of Tyne Close in Kirkdale , was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register and made the subject of a 12 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
