ANTHONY HULME FROM NANTWICH SENTENCED TO 22 YEARS FOR ABUSING CHILDREN ACROSS CHESHIRE AND BEYOND

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Nantwich and the wider Cheshire area, Anthony Hulme, a 57-year-old man residing on London Road in Nantwich, has been convicted and sentenced for a prolonged period of heinous sexual abuse involving four young children. The abuse spanned over seven years, during which Hulme inflicted both physical and sexual harm on two boys and two girls, some of whom were as young as two and three years old at the time of their victimization.

These appalling acts did not occur solely within the confines of Nantwich but also took place in Winsford and other locations across Cheshire and the United Kingdom. The victims' ages at the time of assault ranged from toddlers to teenagers, with one girl being assaulted from the age of eight until she reached her late teens, and another victim subjected to abuse over several years starting from the age of nine.

Hulme’s crimes included multiple counts of gross indecency with minors under 14, with two girls and six boys falling under this category. Additionally, he was convicted of buggery with a boy under 16, along with two counts of indecent assault on a boy under 16 and two counts of indecent assault on a boy under 14. These charges reflect a pattern of predatory behavior that persisted over many years.

The case was brought before Chester Crown Court, where the trial lasted for eight days. The court found Hulme guilty of all charges, leading to a severe sentence of 22 years in prison handed down on Friday, September 3. Furthermore, Hulme will serve an additional two years on prison licence, ensuring close supervision upon his release.
