Andrew Waters/Christopher Hodds

Grimsby Sexual Abuser

October 2018 Perverts convicted of indecent images of children Andrew Waters, 55, formerly of Abbey Road, Grimsby , admitted three offences of making indecent images of children. Police executed a search warrant at his home and found images on a tablet, laptop and computer. They were downloaded between October 2015 and September last year. Three indecent images of children were found on the tablet and 307 were discovered on other equipment, with one video. The youngest child featured in the “deliberate and systematic” searches was just two years old.
Waters had used the Dark Web. He had been married for 25 years, had no previous convictions and was about to retire as a mechanical engineer for British Steel. Waters was given a 10-month suspended prison sentence and 25 days’ rehabilitation. He was given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for 10 years. He was ordered to pay £340 costs. In a separate case, the court heard during the same court session, Christopher Hodds, 33, of Stanley Street, Grimsby, admitted three offences of making indecent images of children. Police searched a bedroom used by Hodds on October 10 last year and found 35 indecent images of children. The youngest child featured in the images was seven years old. A total of 401 files showing indecent images of children had been removed to the computer’s recycling bin and he had previously used a sophisticated clean-up programme seven times to remove evidence. Hodds told the court he was working but would probably not be able to keep his job because of the offences. He was given a six-month suspended prison sentence, 26 sessions of a treatment programme and five days’ rehabilitation. He was given a seven-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for seven years. He was ordered to pay £340 costs.
