ANDREW WARREN FROM SHOREHAM CAUGHT WITH CHILD PORN IN HIS GARDEN SHED
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Shoreham, a local man named Andrew Warren, aged 53, has admitted to possessing and creating numerous indecent images of children. The allegations came to light after police executed a search warrant at Warren’s residence on the High Street in Shoreham during February. During the raid, authorities discovered multiple laptops and external hard drives stored within his garden shed, which Warren also used as a makeshift office space.Warren, during his court appearance, confessed that he felt a sense of disconnection from the outside world whenever he was inside the shed. He insisted that his disturbing interests remained confined within that space and claimed he would never act on these urges outside of his shed environment. The evidence revealed that Warren had been viewing indecent images of children while engaging in sexual acts on himself, a revelation that has caused significant concern among local residents and law enforcement officials alike.
The case was initiated after a UK-based website that specialized in selling child pornography was hacked. Following the breach, Warren was able to access the illicit material, conducting searches using terms such as “pre-teen pleasure” and “pre-teen babes list.” Investigators found that on one of Warren’s hard drives, there were folders containing sexually explicit stories that detailed accounts of adults engaging in sexual relationships with their own children or relatives.
Authorities uncovered a total of approximately 450 images on Warren’s devices. The majority of these images, about 216, were classified as level one, indicating the least severe category of indecency. However, there were also 29 images categorized as level three and 37 as level four, which are considered more serious. Among the children depicted in these images, some were as young as five to eight years old. While Warren still had access to 216 images, it was noted that many others had been deleted from his devices.
Prosecutor James Nicholls emphasized the seriousness of the case, stating, “It’s quite clear from the search terms he had been actively seeking out this material. He said he would only do this in his office in the shed in his garden. There he felt disconnected from everything else and he insisted he would never take his interest outside of his shed.”
Given the gravity of the charges, the chairman of the bench, Gary Knight, expressed concern that the case might be too serious to be handled solely within a magistrates’ court. He noted, “The material caused clear harm to the children involved. We consider it so serious that we will have to consider whether it deserves greater punishment than we can pass.”
Warren has been granted bail under strict conditions and is scheduled to appear again before the same court on December 6. The magistrates will then determine whether they possess the necessary jurisdiction to pass a custodial sentence. Among the conditions imposed, Warren is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16, except for his own children aged 8 and 12. Additionally, he is required to make any computer or electronic device he uses available to police and is not permitted to delete his web browsing history, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his online activity.
