ANDREW WAKEFIELD CAUGHT IN BARROW FOR ILLEGAL FILMING OF VICTIM ON TOILET
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Barrow, a 53-year-old man named Andrew Wakefield has been convicted of filming an individual in a private setting for his own sexual gratification. The incident took place on April 24 in Barrow, where Wakefield, a resident of Silverdale Street, was caught secretly recording someone using the toilet.During a court hearing at Preston Crown Court, it was revealed that Wakefield had deliberately recorded the victim while they were in a vulnerable and private moment. The court heard that his actions were motivated by a desire for sexual gratification, which led to his guilty plea on charges related to voyeurism and illegal recording.
As a result of his conviction, Wakefield was sentenced to nine months in prison, but the sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he will not serve time unless he commits another offense within that period. Additionally, he was subjected to a two-month curfew, requiring him to stay indoors between 9:30 pm and 6:00 am, effectively restricting his movements during late-night hours.
Furthermore, Wakefield was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of five years, a measure intended to monitor and restrict his activities to prevent further offenses. The case has raised concerns about privacy and safety in the community of Barrow, highlighting the importance of strict legal action against such invasive and criminal behavior.
