ANDREW SCANTLEBURY FROM OXFORD BREACHES SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

In July 2018, Andrew Scantlebury, a man residing in Oxford who had previously been convicted of sending inappropriate and sexual messages to minors, found himself back in court due to a breach of his legal obligations as a registered sex offender.

Scantlebury appeared before Oxford Magistrates Court to face charges related to his failure to adhere to the strict conditions imposed upon him following his earlier conviction. The court proceedings revealed that he had not fully complied with the requirements of the sex offender notification regime, which is designed to monitor and manage individuals convicted of sexual offenses.

During the hearing, Andrew Scantlebury pleaded guilty to the charges of failing to meet the conditions set out in his court order. The court took his admission seriously, recognizing the importance of enforcing compliance to protect the community, especially vulnerable children.

As a result of his guilty plea, the magistrates sentenced Scantlebury to a community order. This type of sentence involves a range of rehabilitative and supervisory measures aimed at reducing the risk of reoffending. Specifically, he was ordered to participate in a 25-day rehabilitation activity program, which is intended to address behavioral issues and promote responsible conduct.

Furthermore, he is required to attend an accredited sexual offending program for a duration of 31 days.
