August 2019 Pervert jailed for downloading indecent images of children A 32 year-old man from Redhill has been jailed for downloading indecent images of children and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Andrew Pratheep Sandrasagra was sentenced to a total of fifteen months in prison at Guildford Crown Court on Monday 5 August 2019, following a thorough investigation by Surrey Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT). In addition Sandrasagra is subject to a ten year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and must sign the Sex Offenders Register for ten years. Intelligence was received as part of the team’s work that he was in possession of indecent images of children. Further enquiries revealed that Sandrasagra had made 108 Category A, 46 Category B, and 10,892 Category C, indecent images of a child over a four year period. The term ‘making’ relates to the downloading of the images on his electronic device. Sandrasagra, who denied the four charges, was found guilty at the same court on Tuesday 18 June.
