MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING YOUNG CHILDREN

Malcolm Barber, a 42-year-old man, has been sentenced to prison after engaging in decades of systematic abuse against young children.

The allegations surfaced in 2017, prompting Surrey Police to identify several potential victims.

Investigations revealed that Barber had sexually abused four children, all under the age of 13, on numerous occasions.

During his arrest, authorities found images of the abuse stored on his mobile device.

Barber, who resides in Reigate, was sentenced to 24 years in prison at Guildford Crown Court after pleading guilty to 23 charges.

These included child rape, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, sexual assault through touching, and taking indecent images of children.

The court ordered that he serve at least 16 years of his sentence, with an additional five years on extended license.

He is also required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
