ANDREW MARSHALL FROM BRADFORD AND SCARBOROUGH JAILED FOR SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Bradford and Scarborough, Andrew Marshall, aged 27, has been sentenced to prison after admitting to engaging in a sexual relationship with a girl who was only 14 years old.The disturbing series of events unfolded over a period of several months, during which Marshall took the young girl back to his residence in Scarborough, specifically to his flat on Trafalgar Road.
It was revealed in court that the two had a sexual relationship that lasted at least six months, with Marshall having sex with the girl on no fewer than 15 separate occasions.
Marshall, who has since been residing on Allerton Road in Bradford, appeared before York Crown Court for sentencing.
He had previously confessed to ten charges related to sexual activity with a minor, covering the period from March to September of the same year.
The court was informed that the relationship between Marshall and the girl began with a series of suggestive and sexually explicit text messages exchanged between them.
These messages quickly escalated, leading to a full sexual relationship that was both illegal and deeply concerning.
During the proceedings, Mr.
Mitcheson, representing the prosecution, detailed the progression of the relationship, emphasizing how what started as flirtatious communication developed into a serious breach of trust and legality.
The court heard that Marshall’s conduct was not an isolated incident but part of a pattern of behavior that demonstrated a disregard for the law and the safety of minors.
Judge Stephen Ashurst, the Recorder of York, sentenced Marshall to two years and nine months in prison.
In his remarks, the judge pointed out that the evidence presented painted a picture of a man who had led a “promiscuous sexual life,” engaging with women of various ages, including those significantly older than himself.
The judge underscored the importance of the law in protecting children from exploitation and making sure they are not placed in situations where they cannot make fully informed decisions.
Furthermore, Marshall was disqualified from working with children and was placed on the Sexual Offenders Register indefinitely.
This measure aims to prevent any future risk to minors and to uphold the safety and well-being of vulnerable young people in the community.
