2009: MAN JAILED FOR STABBING GIRLFRIEND IN FACE
A Halesowen man known for his violence was sentenced to three years in prison after he attacked his partner with a knife, inflicting a severe facial wound.Judge Peter Cooke highlighted that he needed to deliver a sentence to safeguard the community because of the defendant’s 'uncontrolled and cruel' domestic violence actions.
The victim, Lindsey Heritage, described Huxley as a 'Jekyll and Hyde' figure—kind and well-behaved when sober but aggressive when drunk.
During the hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, the judge classified Huxley as a dangerous individual, noting the serious risk he posed of future violence.
The 35-year-old denied using the knife to wound Miss Heritage but was convicted after a jury deliberation.
The court also decided to extend his license period to five years upon release.
Huxley’s criminal history includes convictions for armed robbery, wounding, and firearm offences.
The incident happened following a drinking session when Huxley became confrontational.
Despite Miss Heritage’s attempts to calm him, he drew a knife from his pocket and assaulted her.
He cut her on the right cheek and afterward claimed to love her, though she told him that if he truly cared, he wouldn’t have attacked her.
The judge recounted that Huxley threatened to do worse, pinned her down, and lunged at her face, stabbing her into her left cheek.
Huxley displayed no remorse and tried to deceive the jury by claiming his partner had inflicted the wounds herself.
In her victim impact statement, Miss Heritage said she felt nauseated whenever she reflected on the attack and emphasized her desire to have no further contact with him, expressing confusion over what she had done to deserve such treatment.
