ALLEN LOTHIAN FROM FIFE SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND SOCIAL MEDIA ABUSE

A man identified as Allen Lothian, aged 23, has been sentenced to prison after committing a serious sexual offense and subsequently harassing his young victim through social media platforms. The incident took place in Fife, where Lothian targeted a four-year-old girl, whose identity remains protected by legal restrictions.

According to court records, Lothian created approximately 140 different Facebook accounts over a period spanning from October 2014 to June 2018. His intent was to relentlessly pursue and contact his young victim through these numerous online profiles. This extensive online activity highlights the premeditated nature of his actions and his persistent efforts to maintain contact despite the victim’s age and the obvious inappropriateness of his behavior.

In addition to the online harassment, Lothian also engaged in threatening communications with the child. The court heard that he sent messages in which he threatened to disclose details of the sexual acts he had forced her to endure, further traumatizing the young girl and attempting to intimidate her or those around her. These threats added a disturbing layer to his criminal conduct, demonstrating a pattern of abuse and intimidation.

The High Court in Edinburgh presided over the case, where the evidence of Lothian’s actions was presented in detail. The court found him guilty of the charges, leading to his imprisonment.
