ALISTAIR MACKINTOSH FROM FORRES JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENS IN MORAY

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Forres and the wider Moray region, Alistair Mackintosh, a local tradesman, has been sentenced to prison for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed over a span of more than a decade. The court proceedings revealed that Mackintosh, aged 29 at the time of sentencing, engaged in a pattern of predatory behavior targeting underage girls, some as young as 13 years old.

According to court records, the abuse took place between June 2006 and July 2016, involving five young girls. The initial incidents occurred when Mackintosh lured his victims into his vehicle by promising to buy them alcohol, a tactic that allowed him to gain their trust and manipulate them into complying with his inappropriate advances. The court heard that during these encounters, he would drive the girls to secluded locations, where he would then encourage them to remove their clothing. It was reported that he would touch them inappropriately, including placing his hands inside their underwear, and in some cases, engaging in sexual acts with them.

One of the victims recounted to police that she had gone in Mackintosh’s car “almost every night” during the period of his initial offending. Another girl revealed that Mackintosh had asked her for naked photographs via social media, further illustrating the extent of his predatory behavior. These incidents, which took place over several years, demonstrated a disturbing pattern of grooming and exploitation.

In 2009, police questioned Mackintosh following reports of his initial offending, but no charges were filed at that time. Sheriff Chris Dickson described the nature of the charges as “serious,” emphasizing that they involved a significant element of planning and premeditation. The court heard that after a period of apparent cessation, Mackintosh’s abusive conduct resumed in July 2016. During this later period, he picked up a 15-year-old girl in his work van, and the two exchanged phone numbers. The girl was subsequently invited to his home, where Mackintosh engaged in sexual intercourse with her.

The situation escalated when the girl confided in Mackintosh that she feared she might be pregnant. In response, Mackintosh begged her not to tell anyone and even offered to “pay for the abortion,” revealing a further level of manipulation and coercion. Mackintosh’s criminal record includes admissions to three charges of lewd, indecent, or libidinous practices, two charges of engaging in sexual activity with someone under 16, and an additional charge of unlawful sex.

The court ultimately sentenced Mackintosh to 28 months in prison. Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders register for a period of 10 years, a measure intended to monitor and prevent further offenses. The case has left a lasting impact on the victims and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and safeguarding in communities like Forres and Moray.
