ALAN MILBURN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT IN BIRMINGHAM CITY CENTRE

Alan Milburn, a 42-year-old man with no fixed address, has been formally charged in relation to a sexual assault that occurred in Birmingham's city centre.

The incident happened on Thursday, January 16, on Cherry Street, near St Philip's Cathedral.

Authorities responded quickly after receiving reports of the assault shortly after midday, aided by police patrols already stationed nearby to provide public reassurance.

Milburn was remanded in custody and appeared before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday, January 18.
