ADIL ZAFAR SENTENCED IN HALIFAX FOR MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES INCLUDING RAPE
A man responsible for a series of heinous sexual crimes, including rape, against a woman in Halifax last year has been formally sentenced to a lengthy prison term. Adil Zafar, aged 44, was convicted by a jury at Bradford Crown Court on multiple counts, which included three separate charges of rape, as well as offences involving strangulation, sexual assault by penetration, and coercive and controlling behavior. Prior to the trial, Zafar had admitted to committing criminal damage, but the court found him guilty of the more serious allegations.On the day of sentencing, which took place last Friday, Zafar was handed a prison sentence of 15 years. Additionally, he will be under supervision on licence for a further three years following his release, ensuring continued monitoring of his activities.
