Adam Heslop, aged 26 and residing on Isinglass Close in Newmarket, received a prison sentence totaling 17 years at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday, April 3.
Heslop was taken into custody on October 31, 2016, following the victim confiding in her mother.
She revealed that Heslop had asked her to keep a secret, which raised suspicion with her mother.
In December of the previous year, Heslop admitted guilt to multiple serious charges: two counts of sexual assault by penetration involving a girl under 13, two counts of sexual assault of a girl under 13, rape of a girl under 13, a specimen count of assault by penetration on at least two occasions involving a girl under 13, and a specimen count of sexual assault on at least two occasions involving a girl under 13.
He was subsequently sentenced to 17 years for the rape charge, with additional sentences of 12 years each for the sexual assault by penetration and assault by penetration counts, and five years each for the sexual assault and specimen sexual assault charges, with all sentences to run concurrently.
Furthermore, Heslop has been subject to an indefinite restraining order and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
