ABIGAIL KIKKE FROM ALLOA AND CUMBERNAULD SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEX OFFENCES

In a deeply disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Alloa and Cumbernauld, a woman named Abigail Kikke, aged 27, was sentenced to six years in prison for heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of a two-year-old girl and the distribution of indecent images of children. The offences, which took place between March 18 and March 26, 2020, were uncovered after police raided her residence and found a collection of disturbing material, including videos and photographs depicting the abuse.

Abigail Kikke, formerly residing on Sutherland Avenue in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, admitted to a series of grave offences during her court appearance. She confessed to sexually assaulting the young girl at a house in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, during which she engaged in a sexual act on herself and exposed herself to the child. Additionally, she pleaded guilty to taking, possessing, and distributing indecent images of children, including her victim. The court was informed that police had received intelligence on March 26, 2020, indicating that Kikke had used the social networking platform Kik Messenger to circulate an indecent video.

The video, which lasted nearly two minutes, showed her and the young girl in a state of undress. Police also discovered that Kikke possessed 69 indecent images, 11 of which featured her victim. Prosecutor Shanti Maguire revealed that one of these images had been sent by Kikke to an online contact known as 'Daddy.' Other images depicted children as young as three or four years old. Further investigation uncovered that Kikke had been in contact with another internet user called 'Hollow,' who had asked her to perform sexual acts on the girl. She admitted to telling 'Hollow' that she had sent 'Daddy' images of herself and the child, and that he was willing to pay her £4,000 for such material.

During her online exchanges, Kikke claimed she was in financial distress, self-isolating, and struggling with social contact, relying solely on her phone for communication. One of her contacts, claiming to be a successful stock trader, even offered to take her abroad on holiday. In conversations with another male user, she discussed children and was told that the user was 'sexually aroused.' She sent explicit images of the girl to this individual while receiving images of other children, including a male and female, from him. The user was later identified as Gary Smith, a 43-year-old man from Wigan, who has since been convicted and sentenced to 32 months in prison for related sexual offences.

Throughout the proceedings, Kikke followed the case via a video link from prison. The judge, Lord Sandison, acknowledged the severity of her crimes, stating, “This court hears every day accounts of utterly horrific behaviour, often directed against vulnerable victims. But some cases, however, retain their ability truly to shock and this is one of them.” Although she faced a potential sentence of nine years, her guilty pleas led to a reduced sentence of six years. The judge also ordered that Kikke be placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely following her release.

In her defense, Ronnie Renucci QC acknowledged that Kikke understood that a custodial sentence was inevitable. The sentencing was deferred until October to allow for background reports, and Kikke showed no emotion as she was remanded in custody. The case has left a lasting impact on the communities of Alloa and Cumbernauld, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by online predators and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in protecting vulnerable children from exploitation.
