AARON HARRISON'S SHOCKING CHILD INDECENCY CASE IN BRADFORD AND GIGGLESWICK
In August 2021, a man from Bradford, aged 34, narrowly avoided immediate imprisonment after admitting to possessing indecent videos of a child.Aaron Harrison, who was formerly residing in Belle Hill, Giggleswick, and at the time of sentencing living on Valley Road in Bradford, appeared before Bradford Crown Court to face serious charges.
The court proceedings revealed that Harrison was found to have in his possession a total of 21 videos depicting child indecency.
These videos were discovered during a police investigation that took place on April 17, 2020, at a property on Main Road, Stainforth.
Of these videos, 15 were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of indecency, while the remaining six fell into Category B.
The investigation was initiated after police officers, including an undercover operative, engaged in a covert operation involving a conversation with Harrison via the mobile messaging app Kik.
This undercover engagement led to his arrest in April 2020.
Following his arrest, forensic analysis of his mobile phone confirmed the presence of the downloaded videos, providing concrete evidence of his possession.
During police interviews conducted in December of the same year, Harrison fully admitted to the authorities that he had downloaded and possessed the videos.
His admission was considered a significant factor in the court's decision.
At the sentencing hearing, the judge took into account the serious nature of the offences.
Harrison was handed a 12-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offences within that period.
Additionally, the court imposed 160 hours of unpaid community work and ordered him to complete 30 days of rehabilitation activities aimed at addressing his behaviour.
The court also issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order against Harrison, which will remain in effect for ten years.
This order is designed to restrict his access to certain online platforms and prevent him from engaging in activities that could harm children in the future.
Overall, the case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and the importance of judicial measures to prevent reoffending by individuals involved in such serious crimes.
