OFFENDER JAILED FOR SEX ASSAULT ON TEEN AND ATTEMPT TO HIDE EVIDENCE
A man known as Aaron Davison, aged 31, has been convicted of sexually assaulting and raping a teenage girl at an address in Northumberland in July 2020. Following a court trial at Newcastle Crown Court, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. His former girlfriend, Sarah Pringle, aged 29, was also convicted and sentenced to three years for attempting to conceal the crime. She was found guilty of perverting the course of justice after she washed Davison's clothes in an effort to remove evidence and provided a false statement to hinder the police investigation. The victim disclosed the assault to a family member, who then contacted police. Davison denied the crimes but was arrested and subsequently convicted. Det Con Karen Douglas stated he had preyed on a teenager in a cold and careless manner, subjecting her to a terrible ordeal and lying about his guilt, showing a lack of concern for her long-term well-being. In addition to his prison sentence, Davison was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life. Police described Davison as someone who targeted a young girl and emphasized the seriousness of his actions and subsequent conviction.
