NOTTINGHAM PIZZA FACTORY WORKER JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A 'devious and secretive' pizza factory worker has blown his chance of avoiding prison just six months after being given the opportunity by downloading more than 1,700 vile child abuse images.Nottingham Crown Court heard how paedophile Zeek Jabar hid from his supervising officer that he’d bought a tablet to search for the sick photos.
The 34-year-old, of The Meadows, claimed he was fixing the device for someone else and believed it was broken.
But evidence gathered after his arrest showed he was also making internet searches on it including asking “how to reset a password”.
Jailing him for two years, Judge Julie Warburton said: “I have had to think carefully what to do with you.
In March 2022, you were given a chance having not only possessing but distributing indecent images.
A mere six months later, you were acquiring further images and acquired a device those images could be stored on and on it made inappropriate internet searches.
"Do you agree with police using facial recognition software?
Let us know." “ I find your behaviour devious, secretive and disturbing and in my judgement you paid lip service to the order you were handed in March (2022).
This is so serious that only an immediate custodial sentence is appropriate and let me be plain and tell you, you now have a choice.
“If you continue to view such images, longer sentences will follow.
Alternatively, you can change your life by desisting.
That’s all up to you.” Laura Pitman, prosecuting, said Jabar was handed a community order in March 2022 as part of his sentence for possessing more than 3,600 child abuse images and distributing almost 80 of them to like-minded paedophiles.
She said a sexual harm prevention order was also made under the terms of which he was to tell his supervising police officer if he had bought or been given any electronic device capable of connecting to the internet.
The prosecutor said police went to his address on November 4 that year having received information an internet address there had been accessing child abuse images.
Mis Pitman said: “His supervising officer did not know about the tablet which was seized and examined and on it were 101 category A images and movies, 19 category B and 1,632 category C images and movies.
All of the images recovered were young females including one child aged three-to-five in the (most serious) category A, a child aged two or under in category B and children aged eight to 12 in category C.
He had also made internet searches including ‘how to reset a password,’ ‘erotic photos’ and ‘live streaming’.
He was interviewed by the police and told them he had been handed the tablet around two weeks before, believing it was broken and he was going to fix it.
He said he had put it in a drawer and forgotten about it.” As well as the 2022 conviction he has one for burglary dating back to 2009.
Matt Smith, mitigating, said his client has been working with the probation service to address his offending behaviour and “has engaged positively”.
He said: “He has maintained his employment working 12-hour shifts in a pizza factory three days a week.
There is no evidence he has been sharing any images on this occasion and these are not contact offences.” As well as the jail term, the judge handed Jabar a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and ordered him to sign on the sex offender register, also for 10 years.
