ZAM MALLINSON'S BRUTAL CRUELTY IN MARKET RASEN: WILDLIFE AND ANIMAL FIGHTING HORRORS REVEALED
Zam Mallinson, a man notorious for his involvement in animal cruelty and fighting, has once again come under scrutiny following his recent conviction. Residing on Drigh Road in Binbrook, near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, Mallinson, born on November 2, 1990, was found guilty of a series of heinous acts involving both wildlife and domestic animals. His criminal activities include a disturbing incident where he was caught on camera kicking a wild rabbit with apparent malice. The footage, which was uncovered during a police investigation, shows Mallinson approaching the defenseless animal from behind and forcefully kicking it as if it were a football. This act of cruelty exemplifies his blatant disregard for animal life and well-being.
Further investigations revealed that Mallinson kept multiple dogs, including a Staffordshire bull terrier, a lurcher cross, and a Patterdale terrier, with the intent of using them for illegal animal fighting. The RSPCA’s specialized operations unit launched an inquiry after Mallinson openly boasted on Facebook about his involvement in dog fighting activities, claiming he used his animals to fight foxes and badgers. Such confessions prompted a search of his residence on Edinburgh Road, Brookenby, Lincolnshire, in April 2014.
During this search, authorities discovered the dogs kept in deplorable conditions, with injuries consistent with participation in fighting rings. The animals were found suffering from severe facial injuries, indicating they had been involved in violent confrontations. The conditions of the animals and the injuries sustained pointed to a disturbing pattern of cruelty and illegal activity.
In addition to the physical evidence, police seized Mallinson’s mobile phone, which contained footage of him walking up behind a wild rabbit and kicking it with evident intent to harm. This footage, coupled with the other evidence, painted a clear picture of Mallinson’s contempt for animal life.
Commenting on the case, RSPCA Chief Inspector Ian Briggs stated, “Our investigation was initially focused on Mallinson keeping his dogs to attack and fight wild animals. However, the footage we discovered on his mobile phone, of him deliberately and unashamedly kicking a wild rabbit, shows his contempt for animals.”
As a result of his actions, Mallinson was sentenced to a 12-week custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months, for each of the offences. He was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work, pay a fine of £7,000, and contribute an £80 victim surcharge. Additionally, he received a 10-year ban from keeping dogs, which will expire in September 2025. This case highlights the ongoing efforts of authorities to combat animal cruelty and bring offenders to justice in the Market Rasen area.
