WILLIAM STEWART'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN MACDUFF AND MOTHERWELL REVEALED

William Stewart, a 40-year-old man from Macduff, has been handed down a severe prison sentence of 13 years after being found guilty of a series of heinous historic sex crimes. The conviction was delivered by the High Court in Aberdeen, where it was detailed that Stewart committed multiple acts of sexual violence against both a woman and a child, with some of the child's assaults dating back to when she was only five years old.

During the court proceedings, the jury established that Stewart was responsible for a disturbing pattern of rape and sexual offenses spanning over a decade, from 2004 to 2019. The court heard that his crimes included raping a woman and sexually abusing a young girl, with the abuse of the child occurring at various locations in Motherwell and Aberdeenshire. The severity of his actions was underscored by Judge William Summers, who described Stewart’s crimes as
