WILLIAM SKEATS FROM DUMFRIES AND BELFAST PLEADS GUILTY TO SEXUAL ABUSE AND RAPE IN GLASGOW

In August 2022, a disturbing case involving William Skeats, a 55-year-old man from Dumfries with connections to Belfast, came to light as he pleaded guilty to multiple serious charges related to the abuse of a young girl. The case was heard at the High Court in Glasgow, where Skeats faced allegations of heinous acts that spanned over a period of time and took place at various locations within the Dumfries area.

According to court records, Skeats subjected his young victim to repeated and horrific assaults. The charges he admitted to included rape and sexual assault, with one of the most disturbing aspects being the recording of the abuse. It was revealed that Skeats had taken photographs and recorded video footage of the girl during the assaults, evidence that was later recovered by police during forensic investigations. In addition to the sexual offenses, Skeats was also accused of threatening behavior towards the girl.
