August 2007 Satin-fetish paedophile jailed A paedophile with a satin fetish who used an internet chat room to groom what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl has been jailed for five years. William Holah of Herne Hill used the profiles Ladysec500 and satinlover in an internet chat room. The 39-year-old was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court today after being found guilty at an earlier hearing of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, three counts of making indecent images of children and of possessing 20 indecent images of children. He was found not guilty of attempting to incite a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and two counts of making indecent images of children. In July 2006 the 39-year-old made contact with who he believed to be a 12-year-old girl. The girl was in fact a police officer from the Met’s paedophile unit who was working undercover. The girl told Holah – who was using the profile Ladysec500 – she was a virgin and would be 13 the next month. As the conversations progressed, Holah who used his profile to pose as a woman, told the girl that he had a friend called William who wanted to talk to her about sex. Holah’s satinlover profile then made contact with the girl and made comments about wanting to meet. Using his profile Holah started to add pornographic images to messages he was sending and said he would like to have sex with the girl. He then asked if he could take photos of her while they performed sexual acts on each other. The pair agreed to meet on July 24 last year. On the day, detectives from the paedophile unit were waiting. Holah texted the girl to say they should not meet at the original planned location as there were “too many police about”. To describe himself to the girl, he said he’d be wearing a black t-shirt but said he would change into his satin shirt “at her place”. He had in a satin shirt in his bag and is now known to have a fetish for satin. He also had on him a camera, petroleum jelly and a condom in his wallet. After his arrest he claimed he thought he thought he had been meeting a friend who had been winding him up. Holwah was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
