BRANDON MAN GUILTY OF THREATS AND YEARS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE SENTENCED TO PRISON
A man named Warren Meadows, aged 34, from the Brandon area in Suffolk, was involved in a series of violent and threatening incidents against his ex-partner. On October 5, Meadows argued with the victim and forcibly punched a door off its hinges. During this confrontation, the victim called the police but remained silent; however, officers could hear Meadows in the background, leading to police dispatch. Meadow's previous abusive behavior was also detailed, including an incident where he threw a deodorant can at her and pushed her into a radiator. In September, he had shattered the front of an oven and threw a knife at her, narrowly missing. He also grabbed her hand and pushed a knife towards her throat while threatening her. Following this, Meadows attacked her again, which caused blurred vision and bruising. He admitted to threatening her with a bladed article, assaulting her twice by beating, and causing criminal damage. On April 25, at Cambridge Crown Court, Meadows was sentenced to 32 months in prison. The police and prosecuting officers highlighted the prolonged abuse and threats, emphasizing the importance of victims contacting emergency services even if they are unable to speak. The case underscores efforts to bring abusers to justice and protect victims of domestic violence.
