WARREN JACKMAN FROM BIRMINGHAM CAUGHT CROPPING PUPPIES' EARS IN SHOCKING CRIME

In a disturbing case that has shocked animal welfare advocates and the local community, Warren Wesley Jackman, a resident of Birmingham, was found guilty of arranging for the illegal ear cropping of puppies. Born around 1981 and living on Redditch Road, Northfield, Birmingham B38, Jackman’s actions have brought to light the ongoing issue of illegal dog mutilation practices in the area.

Jackman, who has previously styled himself as a tough figure, was involved in the mutilation of four puppies’ ears, including those of a dog named Loki. The illegal procedure, known as cropping or docking, involves slicing off a dog’s ears to give the animal a more aggressive appearance. This practice is banned under Section 5 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 in England and Wales due to the cruelty and pain inflicted on the animals.

The investigation into Jackman’s activities was initiated after images of puppies with cropped ears appeared on an Instagram page linked to him. Authorities, including officers from the RSPCA and West Midlands Police, responded swiftly by executing a raid on a property connected to the social media account. During the search, they discovered four dogs inside the premises, all with evidence of recent ear cropping. The animals included two adult American bullies and two seven-month-old puppies, which appeared to be in good health but bore the scars of recent mutilation.

According to the RSPCA inspector leading the case, all four dogs had been subjected to ear cropping, but the procedure was not recent. The inspector noted, “All the animals appeared to be in good condition. All of them had had their ears cropped, but not recently.” The dogs were subsequently removed from the property and returned to the original breeder, who had no record of performing such procedures.

During court proceedings, Jackman admitted to arranging for the ears of two male and female American bully puppies, named Loki and Hela, to be cut by a third party. He revealed that he had purchased the dogs from a breeder and paid £200 for the ear cropping service. Jackman claimed ignorance and cited drug issues as reasons for his illegal actions, attempting to justify his conduct.

Sentencing in the case resulted in Jackman receiving four weeks in prison, to run concurrently with another sentence for unrelated charges. Additionally, he was banned from owning or keeping dogs for ten years, a ban set to expire in December 2031. The case was further updated on June 29, 2022, when Jackman was sentenced to an additional 16 weeks in prison and received a lifetime ban from owning dogs after committing further offences involving ear cropping.

The latest victims included a female XL bully named Mika and two puppies aged just three months, named Zushi and Zinos. The police, during a separate investigation, seized these dogs after concerns were raised about their recent ear cropping. The puppies still had stitches in their ears, indicating the procedure was very recent, and one of the male puppies was suffering from inflamed and sore ears. The dogs’ breeder provided bills of sale, confirming that Jackman had paid for the cropping, and admitted to the police that he had paid £200 for the procedure.

The seized dogs are now in the care of the RSPCA and will be rehomed to prevent further suffering. Inspector Vicki Taylor emphasized the severity of the case, stating, “The puppies’ ears were freshly cropped and had not yet healed; they still had stitches in the wounds. The police and RSPCA are committed to stopping this illegal practice and protecting vulnerable animals from such cruelty.”
