SHEFFIELD MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER OFFERING GIRL 'BAD BOY MASSAGE'
Adam Wainwright, a 32-year-old man from Rivelin Park Grove, was sentenced to 32 months in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting a young girl under the age of 13.The assault included offering the girl a "bad boy massage" and offering her £10 to remove her pants.
The incident came to light when the girl confided in her mother, revealing that Wainwright had done something "weird" to her last year.
She told her mother that he had massaged her belly and touched her private parts, with Wainwright asking if she wanted a "bad boy massage" and putting his hands in her pants.
Prosecutors stated that Wainwright initially denied any sexual behavior but later pleaded guilty.
A victim impact statement detailed the emotional and psychological damage caused, with the girl experiencing nightmares, panic attacks, and difficulty at school.
Her mother also described her own mental health decline due to the incident.
Wainwright has 16 prior convictions for 22 offenses, none of which were sexual.
The court considered his guilty plea and remorse, but emphasized the seriousness of his actions.
Recorder Hawks expressed that Wainwright caused "catastrophic harm" and condemned his "moment of sexual madness," sentencing him to serve up to half his sentence in custody before release on license.
The judge highlighted the lasting impact on the victim and her family, stating no sentence could undo the damage but hoping it reflects the gravity of his actions.
