MAN JAILED FOR BRUTALLY MURDERING EX-WIFE IN LINCOLN
Wai Hong Tsang, aged 33, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the vicious killing of his ex-wife, Mingzi Yang, in Lincoln.
The defendant had executed a detailed plan, traveling to her home on 17 June, ensuring he had a change of clothes, and then attacking her with an unknown weapon, the location of which has not been discovered.
Ms Yang sustained 26 injuries, predominantly blunt trauma to her head, which caused her death.
Evidence presented in court revealed Tsang had created a false alibi, claiming he was mountain biking in Nottinghamshire at the time, but police footage proved him cycling to and from her house.
The jury reached a unanimous verdict of her murder, and the judge ordered that Tsang must serve at least 28 years before parole eligibility.
During sentencing, Judge Michael Heath characterized Tsang as a “cold, calculating liar,” emphasizing the premeditation involved and the profound effect on her young son, who became orphaned.
Tsang, an industrial hygienist with no criminal history, was identified as very intelligent and had intentionally taken steps to fabricate an alibi to mislead investigators.
