November 2005 Schoolgirl attacked on bus A SUPERMARKET worker who touched up a 13-year-old schoolgirl on a Cambridge bus was sentenced to 80 hours community work. Twenty-six-year-old Vishal Barot sat behind the youngster and began rubbing her blouse during the journey. The horrified girl moved forward and ‘froze’ with fear, but Barot continued his caresses, city magistrates were told. He passed a note to her. It read: “For friendship. Call me” and detailed his mobile phone number. The girl’s mother called police and a woman officer, posing as the girl, telephoned. Barot denied the episode, in October last year, took place and pleaded not guilty to sexual activity with a child. Now married with a baby and living in Romford, Barot was sentenced to 80 hours community work and ordered to pay £348 costs. He will sign the Sex Offenders Register.
