BLACKBURN MAN JAILED FOR FILMING GIRL IN PUBLIC TOILET
A paedophile identified as Vincent Dring has been sentenced to 12 months in jail after filming a young girl in a public toilet by placing a camcorder beneath the cubicle.
Court proceedings revealed that Dring, aged 50 and from Tonge Park Avenue, pleaded guilty at Bolton Crown Court in May to taking an indecent photograph of a child.
The incident was caught on an undercover police surveillance team, which observed Dring leaving Whitton Country Park in Blackburn last July.
A cassette found in a camcorder in his car contained footage of the young girl, estimated to be between 12 and 14 years old, though she has never been located.
Dring drove to a pub near Chorley and was subsequently arrested on a nearby canal towpath.
During the investigation, four additional cassette tapes were recovered.
Following his arrest, Dring was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for five years and was made subject to a Sex Offender Order, which prohibits him from entering parts of Bolton, contacting children, or wearing disguising headgear.
He had previously been jailed for four years in 1999 for indecent assaulting two girls under 14 at Queens Park.
His lawyer claimed he recognizes the need for help and has been seeking it, and he has been in a stable relationship for ten years.
Dring was also placed on a 21-month extended licence.
