VICTOR RIXON FROM PLYMOUTH SENTENCED FOR VIEWING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In a recent development at Plymouth Crown Court, Victor Rixon, a 32-year-old deaf hairdresser from Plymouth, has pleaded guilty to charges related to the possession of indecent images of children. The court heard that Rixon had downloaded and viewed numerous disturbing images depicting the sexual abuse and rape of young children by adults, with some images classified in the most severe Category A.
Rixon's criminal activity spanned over a period from April 2011 to July 2015, during which he made a total of 30 still images in Category A and 14 in Category B.
The case was initially set for trial, but Rixon changed his pleas on two charges just as the jury was about to begin deliberations.
The court proceedings involved the use of signing interpreters to assist Rixon, who is deaf, in understanding the charges and entering his pleas.
Following his admission, Recorder Simon Levene decided to adjourn the sentencing until the following day.
This delay was to allow a probation officer to prepare a comprehensive report on Rixon’s background and circumstances, which will inform the final sentencing decision.
As part of his sentence, Rixon was handed a two-year community order, which includes supervision by probation officers.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay £1,000 towards prosecution costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
These measures reflect the court’s approach to addressing the seriousness of his offenses while emphasizing rehabilitation and community supervision.
