OFFENDER WHO RAPED WOMAN ON DAY OF RELEASE FROM PRISON JAILED

A man who committed a sexual assault immediately upon release from prison has been sentenced. Tylor Munslow assaulted a woman in a car park at Bestwood Country Park around 23:30 BST on September 15, 2023. Nottinghamshire Police reported that Munslow had been released on licence from HMP Ranby, where he was serving time for assault. The offender, aged 24 and of no fixed address, was sentenced to nine years in prison and received a restraining order preventing contact with the victim at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday. Witnesses saw a distressed woman in a car with Munslow; police found the vehicle and the victim reported being beaten and raped. Munslow had been drinking and claimed the victim gave consent. He initially denied the charges but changed his plea on October 8, admitting to rape, assault by penetration, and assault causing actual bodily harm. Det Con Gemma Rimmer highlighted the brutality of Munslow's actions and their devastating impact on the victim, stating that Munslow subjected her to a "violent and extremely shocking ordeal" and had refused to admit guilt for over a year, causing the legal process to be prolonged and distressing.
