WOMAN PETRIFIED AFTER VIOLENT ATTACK BY PARTNER IN STRELLEY
A woman was "petrified" after a horrific attack at the hands of her partner, a court heard.
Troy Bukenya, 23, of no fixed address, launched a prolonged assault after tracking her down to The Rose Inn, Strelley.He began by pushing a man she was speaking with, Nottingham Crown Court heard.
The victim pushed Bukenya away to the corner to prevent a fight but he grabbed her and bit her on the cheek, which bled.Someone chucked a drink over Bukenya and told him to leave.
But he continued the attack outside - dragging the defenceless woman to the floor and headbutting her, telling she was stupid and "to get up".
As she was dragged down the road and assaulted, he told her to "stop acting stupid and crying" every time a car went past.
"She described herself as 'petrified' as a result", said Judge Mark Watson, who jailed Bukenya on Thursday (September 1).When the now ex-couple reached Asda, the defendant got angry again, getting hold of her and forcing her into a taxi.
He kicked her in the leg at least five times and grabbed her coat and spat at her.Her victim impact statement revealed she was scared of Bukenya, fearful for her family and wanted them protected from him.

A restraining order was handed down indefinitely to protect his ex-partner and her mum.
