TREVOR WILKINSON FROM ST BEES SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR HORRIFIC SEX CRIMES IN CUMBRIA

In August 2013, a man from the St Bees area in Cumbria was sentenced to a decade behind bars after admitting to a series of heinous sexual offenses. Trevor Wilkinson, a resident of St Bees and employed as a scaffolder, was found guilty of committing a total of 33 separate crimes, which included some of the most serious forms of sexual misconduct.

Wilkinson's criminal activities spanned over a decade, with allegations dating back to 2002. The charges against him encompassed three counts of rape, seven serious sexual assaults, some of which involved victims who were not conscious at the time, as well as six voyeurism offenses. Additionally, Wilkinson was found to have committed 17 other offenses, primarily related to the possession of a vast collection of child pornography images.

Among the most disturbing aspects of his crimes was the possession of 926 indecent still images of children, classified as second most serious category, along with 55 moving images of the same disturbing nature. These images depicted children under the age of 13, highlighting the severity and depravity of his offenses.

The case was brought before Carlisle Crown Court, where it was revealed that Wilkinson's offending behavior had persisted for many years. The court heard detailed accounts of his actions, which shocked the community and the wider public.

Following the sentencing, Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Coughlan issued a statement emphasizing the gravity of Wilkinson's crimes. He expressed that Wilkinson, aged 51 at the time, had been held accountable for his
