TREVER HAWKER FROM WORKSOP SENTENCED TO 26 YEARS FOR ABUSE IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the local community of Worksop and the wider Nottinghamshire area, Trevor Hawker, aged 42, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 26 years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving young girls. The crimes span over a decade, beginning with an incident in 2008 and continuing through to 2018, revealing a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.Hawker's first known assault occurred in 2008, when he targeted his initial victim. Over the years, he continued his abusive actions, eventually involving a second young girl between 2014 and 2018. The second victim endured repeated abuse, including rape, which added to the severity of the charges against him. The offenses took place at various properties within Nottinghamshire, raising concerns about the safety of children in the area.
The case came to light when one of the victims confided in a friend about the abuse, prompting an investigation by law enforcement authorities. During police interviews, Hawker vehemently denied all allegations, insisting that his victims were lying about what had happened. Despite his denials, the evidence presented in court was compelling.
In March of this year, a jury found Hawker guilty of all charges brought against him. These included two counts of raping a girl under the age of 13, nine counts of assaulting a girl under 13 through touching, and two counts of sexual assault. The verdict reflected the gravity of his crimes and the betrayal of trust involved.
Following his conviction, Hawker was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court. In addition to his prison term, he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his contact with children. Furthermore, he was banned from working with children for the rest of his life and is required to register as a sex offender indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect the community from further harm.
