TREVOR ENGLISH APPEARS IN NEWCASTLE COURT OVER SEXUAL OFFENCES IN TYNE AND WEAR
Trevor English, aged 44, faces serious allegations of sexual offences, including secretly recording men in toilet facilities.
He appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court charged with 18 offences, notably 13 counts of voyeurism, which involve recording individuals in private acts for sexual pleasure.
Prosecutor Holly Clegg stated that English allegedly filmed unsuspecting victims urinating in men's toilets across the Tyne and Wear region between 2012 and 2019, including an incident involving a male under 18.
In addition to voyeurism, English is accused of exposing himself publicly at the Metrocentre in Gateshead on June 19, 2019.
He also faces one charge of taking an indecent photograph of a child in 2018, and three counts of making indecent images of children in 2020.
During the court hearing, English did not enter pleas.
The magistrates’ chair, Derry Nugent, explained that the case was too serious for the tribunal to handle and ordered it to be transferred to Newcastle Crown Court.
English was advised, “This matter, we can’t deal with it here.
It’s going to go forward to your next hearing on the 8th July at Newcastle Crown Court at 10 o’clock.
