Trevor English is accused of serious sexual offences, including recording males while they used the toilet. The 44-year-old appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court facing 18 charges, including 13 counts of voyeurism, which involve recording private acts for sexual gratification. According to prosecuting attorney Holly Clegg, English allegedly recorded unsuspecting victims urinating in men's toilets in the Tyne and Wear area between 2012 and 2019, including one charge related to a male aged under 18.In addition to voyeurism, English is charged with exposing himself in public at the Metrocentre in Gateshead on June 19, 2019. He also faces one count of taking an indecent photograph of a child in 2018, and three counts of making indecent photographs of children in 2020.During the hearing, English did not enter any pleas and was informed that the magistrates’ court could not deal with the seriousness of these charges. The chair of the bench, Derry Nugent, agreed to send the case to Newcastle Crown Court for further proceedings.English was told, “This matter, we can’t deal with it here. It’s going to go forward to your next hearing on the 8th July at Newcastle Crown Court at 10 o’clock. Until that time, you are on unconditional bail.”
