TONY ORMESHER'S REIGN OF TERROR IN LIVERPOOL ENDS WITH JAIL SENTENCE

In a series of troubling incidents that have culminated in his latest incarceration, Tony Ormesher, a man with a long and notorious criminal history, has once again demonstrated his inability to adhere to court orders and maintain peaceful conduct within Liverpool.

Ormesher, aged 53 and residing on St Andrew Road in Anfield, was previously handed a significant ten-year ban from Liverpool city centre following a violent episode in 2016.

During that incident, he engaged in a frenzied assault that included punching a pregnant woman and spitting at staff members of a tour bus.

His criminal record is extensive, encompassing offenses such as indecent exposure, arson, assault, theft, threatening behavior, and criminal damage.

Interestingly, despite his extensive history, Ormesher once held a job as a porter at Eaton Road Police Station in West Derby, and it was only after he turned 45 that his criminal activities began to escalate.

His latest breach of the criminal behavior order occurred on December 27 of the previous year, when he became aggressive with staff at the One Stop Shop located in St John’s Market.

Security personnel intervened, and he was persuaded to leave the premises.

However, his disruptive behavior did not end there.

Just a few days later, on January 5, he was involved in another violent outburst at the Salvation Army center on Prescot Road in Old Swan.

Witnesses reported that Ormesher, who was then without a fixed address, engaged in a heated argument with another resident, shouting at him to “go and get a bath.” When asked to quiet down, Ormesher’s anger intensified, and he was described as being in an “uncontrollable rage.” He proceeded to punch a glass window of a booth, attempting to reach a frightened female receptionist inside.

Prosecutor Simon Duncan detailed the chaos that ensued: “He then used a fire extinguisher, spraying foam onto the wall, floor, computer, and a pool table.” Ormesher’s violent behavior escalated further as he tried to smash the window with the extinguisher and threatened to summon his associates to kill the terrified worker.

Security staff eventually ejected him from the premises.

His actions not only caused damage but also violated the terms of his ban from the Salvation Army center.

Despite this, he failed to notify police of a change of address, which was a requirement under his court orders.

During a hearing on February 11, Julian Linskill, representing Ormesher, admitted to breaching the order and causing approximately £800 worth of criminal damage.

The defense explained that “his temper got the better of him.” At that hearing, Judge Brian Cummings, QC, decided to adjourn sentencing to allow for a pre-sentence report and remanded Ormesher in custody.

Ormesher appeared again in court on the following Monday, where a probation officer informed the judge that The Whitechapel Centre in Islington was willing to assist him.

It was agreed that he could be temporarily housed at the Labre House shelter on Camden Street for two nights, with the aim of securing more permanent accommodation.

Judge Cummings, expressing his astonishment at the extent of Ormesher’s criminal record, remarked, “I’ve never seen anything like it.” He noted that Ormesher’s criminal activity began in August 2010, and since then, his record has grown alarmingly.

The judge reflected that “some kind of dam bursts,” leading to a lengthy list of offenses, but he also expressed a reluctance to give up on the man.

“I’m certainly loathe to write Mr Ormesher off,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation and the hope that Ormesher could return to a more law-abiding life similar to his state ten years prior.

However, the court faced a setback when Ormesher, having been granted conditional bail to visit the centre and discuss his options, failed to follow through.

Instead, he returned to the city centre on Tuesday morning.

When approached by a police community support officer, Ormesher became abusive once again.

His failure to comply with the court’s conditions led to his immediate re-arrest.

In light of his latest misconduct, Judge Cummings had no choice but to impose a custodial sentence.

Ormesher was sentenced to three months in prison, effectively ending his latest attempt at rehabilitation and freedom.

His repeated breaches and aggressive behavior have cemented his reputation as a persistent threat within Liverpool, and his incarceration marks a significant step in addressing his ongoing pattern of violence and defiance of court orders.
