LIVERPOOL MAN GUILTY OF STRANGULATION AND CHILD EXPLOITATION IN SHOCKING CASE
Lawrence Hoey, 61, was found guilty of strangulation, assault, two counts of voyeurism, and making 43 indecent images of children.
The incident occurred in 2023 when his girlfriend confronted him after discovering he had planted secret cameras to record children using a bathroom.
During the confrontation, Hoey attempted to snatch his phone back violently, resulting in him choking his partner.
At his sentencing on March 13, he was sentenced to 20 months in prison for making indecent images of children, plus an additional 10 months for strangulation.
He also received six months for each voyeurism charge and one month for common assault, all to run concurrently.
He was subjected to restraining orders.
The victim suffered bruises, head injuries, scratches, and emotional trauma, and remains medicated for depression.
Hoey, of Leyburn Road, Liscard, has not reoffended since the crimes.
