March 2007 Pervert jailed for 21 months A CONVICTED paedophile has been jailed for 21 months for sexually abusing two teenage sisters. From the outside, Timothy Davison (55) appeared to be a friendly and affectionate widower, but Cambridge Crown Court heard how he actually used his “touchy-feely” persona to fondle and grope young women. The court was told how he used to offer the two teenage girls a lift home in the evenings, but he used the trips to grope them. The sisters, then aged 16 and 19, fought off his advances, but were too afraid to tell each other or their family members about the numerous attacks. But Davison’s unwanted advances escalated and he soon began sending the 16-year-old text messages and letters, saying he was in love with her. She later told her mother and older sister, who then explained her own ordeal at Davison’s hands. Davison, of Cross Lane, Wisbech, who was jailed for 18 months in 1988 for indecently assaulting a young girl, appeared in court yesterday after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual touching and one count of sexual assault. Jonathan Seely, prosecuting, said: “He was very tactile with them and they initially put this down to his friendliness.” Michael Magee, defending, said: “These matters all arose in the aftermath of his wife’s death. They had been together for 37 years.” Sentencing him, Judge Gareth Hawkesworth said: “You have little real understanding of your behaviour and why you behave in this way. “It is evident that a degree of risk to the public remains.” He imposed concurrent sentences of six and nine months for the sexual touching matters, but added a consecutive sentence of 15 months for a sexual assault charge – a total of 21 months.
