TIBOR BANFI FROM PRESTON SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES

In January 2015, a man from Preston was sentenced to a two-year prison term after pleading guilty to multiple charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children. The individual, identified as Tibor Banfi, residing on West Cliff in Preston, faced serious allegations that spanned over several months.

Banfi admitted to four counts of possessing indecent images of minors, along with an additional eight counts of producing such images using his personal laptop. His change of plea occurred during a court hearing at Preston Crown Court, where the proceedings revealed the extent of his offenses.

The court was informed that some of the offending material was produced between September 2013 and January 2014. The images included both still photographs and video clips depicting minors, with varying degrees of severity in terms of explicitness. The investigation into Banfi’s activities was initiated after authorities discovered the collection of indecent material on his Toshiba laptop, which led to his arrest.

His Honour Judge Andrew Woolman presided over the case and, after a brief adjournment to assess the seriousness of the images involved, sentenced Banfi to two years in prison. The case highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child exploitation material, and the court’s decision underscores the gravity of such offenses.
