LIVERPOOL MAN JAILED FOR BAT AND BOILING WATER ATTACK ON FIANCEE
A man has been jailed for an attack on his fiancée with boiling water and a bat that caused her to jump from a first-floor window and hide in a park for 24 hours to escape him.
Thomas Taylor, of Marrow Drive, Fairfield, was sentenced to two and a half years at Liverpool Crown Court.
He left his partner of eight years with injuries including a broken nose, wrist, ribs, fingers, and bruises "from head to toe." Taylor claimed he believed she was unfaithful.
He had previously admitted grievous bodily harm without intent and was sentenced to two years six months.
The court noted his paranoia increased after losing his brother James (shot in February 2019) and due to fears her ation with a work colleague.
The court described his attack as "prolonged and brutal," involving a baseball bat, sticks, and a machete handle, with him pouring boiling water over her body.
The victim later told police she had hoped to die from hypothermia but also said she loved Taylor and did not want anything bad to happen to him.
