THOMAS HOWELLS SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR RAPE IN STOKE ON TRENT AND BLURTON
Detectives and law enforcement officials have expressed their approval following the recent sentencing of Thomas Howells, a teenage offender convicted of a serious sexual assault.Thomas Howells, aged 19, has been sentenced to a lengthy eight-year prison term after being found guilty of raping an unconscious woman. The incident took place in the Stoke-on-Trent area, specifically involving locations in Blurton and Chell Heath, where Howells resided at the time.
It was revealed that Howells was only 17 years old when he committed this heinous act, which has now led to his conviction and subsequent imprisonment. The case also included charges related to the exploitation of a minor, as Howells pleaded guilty to inciting or causing a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Staffordshire Police, who have been actively involved in the investigation, have publicly commended the bravery and resilience of the victim. Detective Inspector Zoe Kelsall, a key member of the force’s rape and serious sexual offences team, stated, “I am pleased our specialist officers have been able to help secure this sentence, which we hope will bring some closure to the victim, who has shown great courage during the course of the trial.”
She further emphasized the importance of taking such crimes seriously, urging anyone who suspects they or someone they know may be victims of sexual assault to come forward and seek help.
