May 2021 Paedophile creepily admits he ‘needs a connection’ with children A pervert caught with indecent images admitted he is attracted to children but there has to be a “connection”. Thomas Daly, 28, was caught for a second time with a string of photographs and videos on his phone and computer. Worryingly, Daly seemed up front about his attraction to children and, despite undergoing a course, was still viewing sick images and videos. He appeared at Hull Crown Court on Monday for sentencing having previously admitted three counts of making indecent images of children. Officers visited Daly’s home in The Mile, Pocklington, and he was arrested. A mobile phone and a game console were seized. Police found 209 category A images – the most serious kind – 77 category B images and 568 category C images. There was also one category A video and two category C videos discovered. In interview, when asked why he downloaded such images, Daly said: “I find the images of the girls cute and I wanted to be able to see them again.” When asked if he has a sexual interest in children he replied: “It depends if there is a connection”. The court heard that, in September 2020, Humberside Police received information about indecent images of children being downloaded at an East Yorkshire address. Daly has a similar conviction from 2017 and the community order he received had only just expired when he committed these latest offences. But he was in breach of a sexual harm prevention order. Daly was jailed for 16 months for possessing the category A material, 12 months for category B and eight months for category C which will all run concurrently. He will be on the sex offenders’ register for ten years and the sexual harm prevention order will also last ten years.
