Builder Sentenced for Continuing Sexual Exploitation of Teenage Girl After Discovering Her True Age

BUILDER SENTENCED FOR CONTINUING SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF TEENAGE GIRL AFTER DISCOVERING HER TRUE AGE

A man identified as Jonathan Girling has been implicated in ongoing sexual exploitation and activity involving a teenage girl, according to court reports.

Girling engaged with the girl via a website dedicated to 'sugar daddy' arrangements, initially believing her to be 19 years old.

However, it was later revealed by the girl that she was only 17.

Despite discovering her true age, Girling continued to maintain intimate contact, exchanging sexual messages and images, and even sending her £75 in three separate payments for images and sexual activity, on or before August 28, 2023.

Girling, 47, from York Road, Hayton, near Pocklington, admitted to arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a 17-year-old for sexual services and pornography, as well as making indecent images of a child.

Evidence presented in court included seven images in Category A and 46 in Category C.

Girling was arrested on August 30, 2023.

The prosecution highlighted that Girling’s actions were motivated by a 'warped sexual fantasy' and involved discussions of sexual abuse with another person.

Although Girling expressed remorse during mitigation, the court sentenced him to a nine-month suspended prison sentence, 20 days of rehabilitation, and a probation building skills programme.

Additionally, he was ordered to comply with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for a decade.
