THOMAS BOWYER FROM PILL CAUGHT WITH CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN WESTON AND NORTH SOMERSET

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Thomas Bowyer, a resident of Pill, was apprehended after a series of investigations revealed his possession of numerous indecent images of children. The incident unfolded when a bouncer at Ella's Disco Bar, located in Weston, discovered a mobile phone that appeared to have been accidentally left behind by a patron on November 16, 2017.

While inspecting the device, the doorman noticed a distressing collection of images displayed on the screen. Dozens of photographs depicted children in sexually explicit contexts, some of which involved girls under the age of 13 dressed in school uniforms. Although these images were not classified as obscene, their sexual nature was deeply concerning. Recognizing the phone as belonging to a former staff member at the bar, the bouncer promptly handed the device over to local authorities at Weston Town Hall.

Subsequently, police investigations uncovered that Bowyer had previously been involved in similar criminal activity. In September of the same year, he had submitted a phone and a SIM card to law enforcement as part of a different inquiry, during which authorities discovered additional indecent images of children stored on those devices.

Further examination revealed that Bowyer, aged 25 and residing in Underbanks, was in possession of a total of 98 indecent images and three videos depicting child sexual abuse. These illicit materials were spread across multiple devices confiscated by the police. The evidence painted a disturbing picture of ongoing criminal behavior involving the exploitation of minors.

Thomas Bowyer was charged and pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images of children during a court hearing held at North Somerset Courthouse on July 24. His actions have prompted serious legal consequences, and he now faces potential penalties including up to six months in prison and an unlimited fine. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 19, where magistrates will determine the final punishment for his crimes. The case has garnered significant attention due to the severity of the allegations and the impact on the victims involved.
