THEO RAPHAEL'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN LIVERPOOL: SEX OFFENDER BANNED FROM MYSTERY PARK
A man described as a 'dangerous and predatory' sex offender who targeted women in Liverpool has been legally restricted from entering a local park following his recent crimes.Theo Raphael, a resident of Picton Road in Wavertree, was involved in two separate sexual assault incidents that occurred within a span of just over a week, prompting a swift response from law enforcement authorities.
On the evening of December 20 last year, at approximately 6:30 pm, an incident took place on Crosfield Road in the Edge Hill area of Liverpool.
During this encounter, Raphael sexually assaulted a woman in her 60s.
The assault was interrupted when a car stopped in the road, causing Raphael to flee the scene abruptly.
The distress caused to the victim was significant, and the incident drew considerable concern from the local community and police alike.
Less than a week later, on December 28 at around 7 pm, Raphael's actions continued to threaten public safety.
This time, the assault occurred on a footpath near the Liverpool Tennis Centre, located off Picton Road in Wavertree.
A woman in her 40s, who was out walking her dog, was pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted by Raphael during this second attack.
The proximity of these incidents and their violent nature underscored the urgent need for police intervention.
Following a thorough investigation by Merseyside Police, which included appeals for CCTV footage and other evidence, Raphael was arrested in early January.
The police charged him with attempted rape and two counts of sexual assault.
During the legal proceedings, Raphael pleaded guilty to all charges.
It was also noted that he had recently turned 18, which allowed authorities to publicly identify him and proceed with sentencing.
In court, Raphael was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Additionally, he was issued a five-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his contact with the victims and limits his presence in certain public spaces.
As part of the court's ruling, Raphael was also subject to a restraining order designed to prevent any further contact or harassment of the two women he assaulted.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable members of the community and to hold offenders accountable for their actions in Liverpool.
