Terry Coneyworth, 31, abused the child a number of times in 2018 and took photos and videos. He pleaded guilty to 19 child sex offences at a previous Hull Crown Court hearing. Sentencing him to a minimum of eight years, Judge Mark Bury said: “Your offending plumbed the depths of depravity”. He will have to serve at least eight years before being considered for parole. Coneyworth, of Derwent Avenue, Hull, attacked the child in October and November, sharing the images on a messenger service. On one occasion, the toddler was unwell when he “inflicted the abhorrent” attack. Hull Crown Court heard distressing details of the offences and how Coneyworth shared images with a paedophile in the United States, whose handle was “babygirlloverjohnsmith” and boasted about abusing her. In conversations with the paedophile, Coneyworth, of Derwent Avenue, Hull, spoke about another baby he planned to abuse. The court heard 965 indecent images were found at his home – of which 116 were category A – The most severe showing rape or torture. Of the 22 images he had distributed, nine of those were of the child he abused. Judge Bury said: “These crimes are of the utmost severity. You sexually abused her even when she was ill. “You boasted about the abuse to other paedophiles “You have, by your own admission, a sexual interest in young children. “These images will be available to like-minded people all over the world.” The court heard he had been making indecent photos of young children since he was a teenager. Prosecutor Geraldine Kelly said during a police raid in November, officers seized letters in which he wrote of “being in a dark place, full of hate and ashamed of himself”. Coneyworth was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register. The charges – Rape of a child under 13 – Sexual assault of a child under 13 by penetration – six counts – Taking indecent photographs of a child – three counts – Making indecent photographs of a child – three counts – Distributing indecent photographs of a child – six counts December 2018 Hull man raped girl, 2, in disgusting catalogue of depraved child sex crimes A man who took pictures of himself raping a two-year-old girl has been caught by police. Terry Coneyworth, of Derwent Avenue, east Hull, sexually assaulted and raped the toddler before uploading pictures of him doing so to the internet. The 31-year-old has admitted a total of 19 sexual offences charges in what one police officer described as “the most serious and disturbing case I have dealt with in my 16 years of service”. Police discovered the sick images on his electronic devices in a raid on his home, but also found evidence of an online chat where Coneyworth talked about raping and sexually assaulting another young girl. Detective Constable Gregg Anderson said: “Coneyworth committed the most serious sexual offences against an extremely young girl and I believe that had we not caught him when we did, he would have continued with his depraved actions. “The content of his online chat also suggested that he had another victim in mind, so we are extremely glad that we stopped him when we did and prevented the possible abuse of other children. “Our thoughts remain with his victim and her family and hope that with their continued love and support she will be able to recover from what has happened to her and rebuild her life. “I would also like to thank them for their bravery throughout the investigation. “This has not been an easy case to deal with and I also want to commend the professionalism, care and dedication shown by my team and our partners, including the Crown Prosecution Service and National Crime Agency, in helping us to quickly secure this conviction. “Finally, I would like to urge anyone who has information or concerns about this kind of offending to call us on 101. We will always listen and support you in any way we can.” Coneyworth’s sick offences came to light last month after the National Crime Agency alerted the specialist Internet Sex Offenders team that someone in Hull had taken pictures of a child being sexually abused and uploaded them to a website. Humberside Police teams traced the address and established the photos had been taken at that location. Coneyworth was arrested that day, his computer equipment and phone were seized and he was later remanded into custody. On December 21 he appeared at Hull Crown Court, where he admitted: •Rape of a child under the age of 13 •Five counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13 •Three counts of taking indecent photographs of a child •Six counts of distributing indecent photographs of a child •Three counts of making indecent photographs of a child •Possession of extreme pornography.
