MAN JAILED FOR ATTEMPTING TO SOLICIT SEX ACT FROM CHILD
A repeat offender has been sentenced to prison for attempting to solicit a sexual act from a minor at Hull Paragon station, according to an investigation carried out by the British Transport Police (BTP).
Ben Puckering, who is 39 years old and does not have a fixed address, received an 18-month jail term at Hull Crown Court on April 2 after admitting to inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
During the court hearing, it was revealed that on December 7 of the previous year, Puckering, a wheelchair user, approached a 14-year-old boy passing through the station with friends.
He then offered money in exchange for a sexual act.
The young boy appeared visibly frightened and distressed, and he reported the situation to station security staff.
The security personnel promptly contacted the BTP.
Puckering was taken into custody and declined to answer questions during the police interview, only stating that ‘there would be no witnesses.’
