TERENCE O’NEILL FROM CARLISLE ADMITS CHILD INDECENT IMAGE OFFENCES IN RICKERGATE COURTS
In June 2017, a man from Carlisle, identified as Terence O’Neill, faced serious allegations related to the possession and download of indecent images of children.The proceedings took place at Rickergate courts, where O’Neill, aged 38 and residing on London Road, pleaded guilty to multiple charges involving child exploitation material.
Specifically, O’Neill admitted to three separate counts of downloading indecent images of minors.
Among these, five images were classified as Category A, which is considered the most severe level of child abuse imagery.
In addition to these downloads, he also confessed to possessing a total of 26 indecent images of children, further underscoring the gravity of the case.
Following his admission, magistrates at Rickergate courts decided to commit the case to Carlisle Crown Court for a sentencing hearing scheduled for July 7.
Prior to the sentencing, comprehensive background reports will be prepared to assist the court in determining an appropriate penalty.
O’Neill’s actions have led to his registration on the Sex Offenders’ Register, reflecting the serious nature of his offences and the ongoing legal consequences he faces.
