TERENCE CLARK FROM WOODBRIDGE JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN DOVER AND BOYTON

In a case that has spanned decades, Terence Clark, a man originally from Dover and now residing in Boyton, Woodbridge, was finally brought to justice for a sexual assault committed over 35 years ago. The incident involved a young girl during the 1980s, and despite the passage of time, the repercussions of his actions have persisted for the victim.

Clark, who was a prison officer at Dover at the time, believed he had successfully evaded any consequences for his misconduct. However, the long arm of the law caught up with him when he was tried at Canterbury Crown Court. During the proceedings, the 74-year-old defendant, described as a “frail pensioner,” attempted to shift blame onto the victim, suggesting that she was responsible for the incident. Ultimately, the jury found Clark guilty of indecent assault, a conviction that marked a significant moment in the pursuit of justice for the victim. In addition to his prison sentence, Clark was ordered to register as a sex offender and was placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. These measures are intended to protect the community and prevent any future offenses.
